The association of the European Household Appliance Manufacturers from Romania – APPLiA
- Established in 2006 as CECED Romania
- Members: Amica, Arctic, Aristion, BSH, Candy, Daikin, Electrolux, Philips, Groupe SEB, Whirlpool;
- Member of APPLiA Home Appliance Europe ( former CECED) since May the 30th, 2006.
The objectives of the association are:
- Supporting the manufacturers, in technical areas, in their relation with the authorities and the institutions with attributions regarding the certification and standardization and other relevant bodies;
- Conducting studies and other research aimed at informing the Industry;
- Dealing directly with opinion makers, consumers, the media and the scientific community on all relevant issues regarding the household appliances;
- Keeping-up an efficient and effective organization able to cover the scope of activities and carry out its specific tasks, while rendering individual services to its members, in response to their needs.
The main activities are related to:
- Adoption and implementation of the regulations regarding energy label and eco-design;
- The transposition and implementation of the waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) Directive 2012/19/EU;
- Implementation of the New Legislative Framework;
- Promotion of the use of energy efficient appliances.
